No fewer than 135 suspects of various offences are being interrogated by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command after a joint Task Force with the military raided some hot spots in the Territory, reports page3news.com.ng
The raid is in the bid to rid FCT of criminals and criminalities.
While briefing journalists on FCT Police Command activities, Garba Haruna said the Command in collaboration with the military in a joint Task Force raided some hot spots in the Territory where some suspects were arrested.
Page3news.com.ng reports that the coordinated raids on the suspects’ hideouts were to ensure the Territory is safe for the residents.
According to the Police Commissioner FCT Command, Garba Haruna, eight among the suspects that were paraded on Thursday were operating the notorious ‘one-chance’ activities.
“Various dangerous weapons such as pistols, machetes, handcuffs and drugs were recovered from these one-chance operators when arrested. Investigations are still on-going, and the suspects would be charged to court at the end of our investigations.
Our men have made a good catch of suspected criminals during the last 10 days the Joint Task Force raided some hot spots in the FCT; and 75 of them have been charged to court while investigations are still on-going on some of the other matters. We are not going to relent in our efforts to rid FCT of criminals,” Garba Haruna stated.
