After a winning start of the Africa Cup of Nations in Garoua, Cameroon the Super Eagles’ coach, Austin Eguavoen says it is not yet a celebration time even after edging the Pharoah of Egypt 1-0 in Group D encounter.

Eguavoen would not blame any player, but said more still need to be done as game progresses.
“The reception has been great since we arrived in Garoua, it has been an interesting AFCON from the first game.
“We know the strength of our players, we still need to work harder in our subsequent matches.
“It was tactical changes we made against Egypt and we are still talking with the players about our subsequent group matches and the tournament”, Austin Eguavoen said stressing that Mohammed Salah is one of the best players in the world.
He said the strategy adopted was not on a specific marker, but we instructed the players to close him (Salah) down at any time and they must be a second player behind the marker.
According to him, the same set of players, every coach have their style, philosophy and leadership.

Speaking about the relationship in the camp, Eguavoen said, “I told the players to see me as their brother and father, my assistants, I called them my colleagues. We have a path towards the same direction, we have the privilege to serve the country and we must always give our best”
