The Lagos state Basic Education Service, BES has given approved private secondary schools in the state, between November 22 and December 23, 2021 to register their students for the 2022 May/June West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examination, WASSCE.
A memo to the principals of all approved private secondary schools in the state dated November 19, 2021 and signed by Ojikutu O.G D(BES) titled: ‘Presentation of private schools students for May/June 2022 WASSCE for school candidates’ registration’ made available to Page3news.com.ng indicated that the exercise would commence Monday, November 22.
The memo in part reads: “I am directed to inform you that the registration of private school students for the May/June 2022 WASSCE, will commence on Monday, 22nd November, 2021, and close on Thursday, 23rd December, 2021.
“Sequel to the above, you are kindly to note that requirements for Y2022 WASSCE clearance are as follows:
i. Approval letter (original and photocopy)
ii. Clearance letter for 2021(original and photocopy)
iii. Demand notice for annual dues for 2021 (original and photocopy)
iv. Annual dues receipts for 2019, 2020 and 2021 (original and photocopy)
v. SS 2 register for 2020/2021 academic session (original and photocopy)
vi. Last year 2020/2021 slot clearance
vii. List of candidates typed in excel format
• Hard copy – signed by the Principal
• Soft copy – flash drive.
“Kindly ensure that the above listed items are submitted to the Basic Education Service (BES) Department, Room 503 Ministry of Education for sighting and documentation”.
The memo however warned that falsification of candidates name and numbers by any school would be sanctioned and late registration would attract a penalty fee of N50,000 for the first 30 days of default, and N100,000 thereafter.
According to the memo, the private schools have been scheduled in groups to ease the registration of candidates.
