A Data for Development Analyst with the United Nations for Population Activities, UNFPA, Mr Ojogun Tellson Osifo has been appointed the Director General of the National Population Commission, NPC.
Osifo’s appointment titled: APPOINTMENT AS DIRECTOR-GENERAL, NATIONAL POPULATION COMMISSION contained in a letter with reference: SGF. 19/S.21/X/320 of 9th August, 2022 was signed by Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
It in part reads: I am pleased to inform you that Muhammadu Buhari, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria has approved your appointment as the Director-General, National Population Commission for an initial term of four (4) years in accordance with the provisions of Section 9(1) No. 31 of the National Population Commission (Establishment) Act, 1991.
“This appointment is with effect from 4 August, 2022 and your emoluments and other conditions of service shall be as provided under “The Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc) (Amendment) Act, 2008”.
According to staffers of the NPC, Osifo’s appointment letter was conveyed to him Thursday, and he is expected to resume office next Monday, August 15.
After the retirement of the former Director General of the Commission, Alhaji Ghanji Bello, Mrs Patience Mbagwu has assumed that position in acting capacity.
