Founder of Mark D Ball, Igoche Mark, has been elected as the new President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF.
Mark emerged as the President after he polled eleven votes at the NBBF Elective Congress held inside Package A of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Monday.
Osita Nwachukwu was elected as the Vice President of Federation.
The North Central representatives, Igoche Mark polled eleven votes, while Osita Nwachukwu,representing South East Zone, also polled eleven votes to emerge as Vice President.
Other zonal representatives present at the NBBF Congress Election are Mohammed Lawal Na’Allah (North West), Ibrahim Gimba (North East), Kingsley Aigbonaga (South South) and Josiah Amedu (South West).
Chairman of the Electoral Committee,
Suleman Muhammed, who is also the vice chairman of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Basketball Association, said he was pleased that the election was free and fair in line with the Sports Ministry’s directive.

“I am very happy to see that the election was conducted in line with Sports Ministry’s directive. The election was very free and fair,” Muhammed stated.
In his acceptance speech, shortly after was sworn in, the new President-elect of the NBBF, Igoche Mark said he was happy that stakeholders vehemently rejected the attempt
to impose the candidates who will run the affairs of the federation.
He however appealed to all concerned stakeholder to unite and build the game.
“For me, it is exciting that I emerged as the NBBF new president, because for the first time, stakeholders came together to take the bull by the horn. They have resisted every attempt of imposition. This is the time to build the game of basketball. I will want us all to come together and join in building the basketball,” Igoche Mark said.
Others on the NBBF Board are Stanley Gumut (Players’ Representative), Tope Oluwosulu (Paramilitary Representative) and Scot Nnaji (Technical/Coaches Representative).
