• The final scoreline
The Nigeria Customs Basketball team winning streak was punctured today as it bowed to superb youthful FCT Hardrockers in the ongoing Group C Mark D Ball Championships at the Indoor Hall Package B of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, just as the Plateau Peaks survived Niger Potters to register it’s first victory in the tournament.
The youthful and enterprising FCT Hardrockers dominated the game from the first quarter and mesmerised the older Nigeria Customs players to show full control in the last seconds of the game.
Even the screaming of the Nigeria Customs team’s coach, Scott Nnaji from the sideline could not change the situation, as the FCT Hardrockers players were dunking and slamming with ease.
The dribbling skills of the FCT Hardrockers players left all perplexed.
Still trailing, hope almost came the way of the Customs in the fourth quarter, when the scoreline was 74-77, but the fast and energetic FCT Hardrockers players dazzled in less than 78 seconds to round up the game they finished in 94-84 final scoreline.
The Plateau Peaks for the first time, since the tournament dunked off, smiled out of the Indoor Hall after a 78-67 victory over Niger Potters. “Finally, finally we were able to find our bearing in this Mark D Ball Championships. This victory will surely spur us to another victory tomorrow against Suleija Bulldogs”, thus declared the excited Plateau Peaks players.
The Civil Defenders hit CAMA 72-61 to ascertain it’s qualification for the Top-16 should the players hold the Nigeria Customs team tomorrow, and Kwara Falcons as well as the Niger Potters in their remaining games.
