After falling 69-72 to Suleija Bulldogs in its very first match in Group C, Phase 2 of the Mark D Ball Basketball Championship, the FCT Hardrockers have become ruthless and crushed all opponents including the high profile Nigeria Customs team and the Civil Defenders, and this evening, the youthful and enterprising FCT Hardrockers humiliated Niger Potters 87-45 at the Indoor Hall, Package B of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

And seventeen-year old Adama Aboje of the FCT Hardrockers, has been the cynosure of all eyes with his fast run, perfect dunking and slamming and dribbling skills to outwit opponents.

The FCT Hardrockers vs Niger Potters was as entertaining to the spectators, as it was tensed to the players and officials of the Minna-based Niger Potters.

From the first quarter, it was evident that the Minna players were no match in the last game of the day, as they trailed 13-23. And instead of closing the gap in the subsequent quartero, it was increasing till the fourth and final quarter the FCT Hardrockers dictated the pace and ended the game 87-45.

“It’s hard work. And we’re ready to take on any team without much hassle. With this performance, we will feature in the Top-16, and we are going to take on the teams one after the other”, 17-year old Adama Aboje whispered to page3news.com.ng after humbling Niger Potters.

Like mourners from a funeral procession, the Civil Defenders’ players and officials marched out of the Indoor Hall after the team was battered 68-57 by Kwara Falcons; the fourth defeat in their six outings in the tournament.

The Nigeria Customs players gave a good account of themselves, as they defeated Suleija Bulldogs 90-69; an outcome that made the team’s coach, Scott Nnaji almost walk on his head.

“We got it right, and that’s how it is supposed to be”, an elated Nnaji said.
