Matches of Group C Phase 2, Day 3 of the Mark D Ball Men’s Basketball Championship were severally disrupted today at the Indoor Hall Package B of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja owing to power cut, reports page3news.com.ng

Some electrical engineers deployed to work on the generator only ended up smearing themselves with engine oil to conceive the idea that they were working, and could not get the generator started.
The first match between Plateau Peaks and Nigeria Customs scheduled for 11 am suffered intermittent disruption, as power was not steady.
The FCT Hardrockers vs Civil Defenders that was to dunk off soon after the Plateau Peaks vs Nigeria Customs, was held up for over 4hrs owing to power cut, and the supposed standby generator could not be powered to illuminate the hall.
In another development, the convenient at the Indoor Hall have been sealed, and players and officials pressed to answer the nature’s call, have to travel a distance to ease themselves.
Basketball enthusiasts said the sudden breakdown of the standby generator and the inability of the technicians to fix it as well as the sealing off the toilets was the handiwork of saboteurs.
The Package B management officer, Rabiu Mohammed, would not admit that there was element of saboteurs in the non- functioning of the generator and the sealing off of the toilets.
“The generator has suddenly stopped working and there was an issue the water board encountered, but it’s being rectified”, were all Rabiu Mohammed volunteered when contacted.
