The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development may have woken to its responsibilities in the crisis that has enveloped the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, as it said it is waiting for reports from the parallel Elective Congresses held in Benin City, Edo State and Abuja respectively on Monday before coming out with its position.

Mohammed Manga, the Director, Press and Public Relations at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, in a statement issued today, which was made available to Page3news.com.ng said, “the ministry is aware of the recent developments around the Elective Congresses of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, in Benin City and Abuja on Monday, January 31st, 2022.

“The Ministry awaits the reports of the Congresses upon which it will make its position known”, he stated in the statement.

Page3news.com.ng reports that the founder of Mark D Ball Basketball, Igoche Mark, was elected the NBBF president at the election held at the main bowl of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja and Osita Nwachukwu won the Vice President position while Musa Kida was elected president in the election held in Benin.
