NJC Recommends Appointment Of 64 Judicial Officers

The National Judicial Council, NJC has recommended names of 64 successful candidates to their various State Governors for appointment.

According to Soji Oye Esq, Director, Information in a statement made available to Page3news.com.ng, the decision was arrived at
its 96th Meeting of 14 and 15 December 2021.

He said, “the NJC at its 96th Meeting of 14 and 15 December 2021 considered the list of candidates presented by its Interview Committee and at the end of deliberation, Council recommended the under-listed names of Sixty-four successful candidates to their various State Governors for appointment”.

The successful candidates are: Chief Judge, Enugu state,
Justice Ozoemena Raymond Afojulu; Chief Judge, Adamawa State,
Justice Nathan Musa;
Grand Kadi, Sharia Court of Appeal, Niger state, Kadi Abubakar Musa Mohammed Kigera;

Grand Kadi, Sharia Court of Appeal, Adamawa State, Kadi Usman Aliyu Girei;

President, Customary Court of Appeal, Ogun State, Justice Shiyanbola Raheem Akanbi;

President, Customary Court of Appeal, Cross River state, Justice Eneji Maurice Odey;

President, Customary Court of Appeal, Adamawa State, Justice Wajilda Peter

President, Customary Court of Appeal, Abia State, Justice O. I. Nwamoh;

President, Customary Court of Appeal, Plateau State, Justice Blessing Lyop Dalyop

Five (5) Judges, High Court of Justice, Sokoto state – Sanusi Shehu,
Mu’awiya Dahiru Mahmud, Abubakar Abubakar Zaki, Mohammad Aliyu Sambo and Maryam Muhammad.

Four (4) Judges, High Court of Justice, Nasarawa state, Isa Ebini Kana, Ali Tari Changbo, Abdullahi Hassan Shams Shama
and Solomon Wayidna Ayenajeh.

Two (2) Judges, High Court of Justice, Ogun state, Adeyemi Adekunle Adewole and Bello Safrat Titilayo

Four (4) Judges, High Court of I, Bayelsa state – Lockie James Benimo,
Zuofa Ama Patience,   Simon Warikiyei Amaduobogha and Christine Irigha Kombo-Enegesi.

Four (4) Judges, High Court of Justice, Cross River state – Daniel Ofre Kulo, Rita Otu Marshall,
Odibu Emmanuel Ekaya
and Obin Blessing Egwu

Fourteen (14) Judges, High Court of Justice, Lagos state – Okunuga Olubusola Adeyemi,
Adeyemi Adenrera Olayinka, Oshin Olufolake Olufolasade, Esq; Odusanya Oluwatoyin Atinuke, Martins Olumuyiwa Oluseun, Ariyike Mutiat Ipaye-Nwachukwu, Babatunde Oladepo Kalaro, Awope Omolade Jadesola, Akinkunmi Olusegun Idowu, Oresanya Olalekan Ayodeji, Oshodi Mujibat Iyabode, Ijelu Ismail Olalekan, Balogun Mosunmola Muyibat and Mathias Oluwole Dawodu.

Four (4) Judges, High Court of Justice, Rivers state – Popnen Sylvester Sunday, Daketima Gabriel Kio, Nsirim Chinwe Amanda and Chinelo Chidubem Odili.

Four (4) Judges, High Court of Justice, Ekiti state – Apuabi Johnson Ariyibi, Blessing Oluwabukola Ajileye,
Olalekan Olayinka Olatawura and Oyinkansola Olumayowa Oluboyede.

Two (2) Ladies, Sharia Court of Appeal, Sokoto state – Buhari Yahaya and Umar Jibril Kebbe

One (1) Kadi, Sharia Court of Appeal, Katsina, Kabir Hamisu Bello.

Three (3) Kadis, Sharia Court of Appeal, Jigawa state – Bara’u Bashir Musa, Ahmad Muhammadu Lamin and Nasiru Abubakar Zargina.

One (1) Judge, Customary Court of Appeal, Ebonyi – Awada Paul Mgbada.

Three (3) Judges, Customary Court of Appeal, Ogun state – Olukemi Folasade Osisanya, Odugbesan Idowu Adebiyi and Akinsinde Oluwasina Philip.

Four (4) Judges, Customary Court of Appeal, Cross River state – Obo Agbor Anthony, Ititim Felix Igobi, Eunice Oshim Dada and Ankpor Jeremiah Arong.

Soji Oye Esq stated that all recommended candidates are expected to be sworn-in after approval of the NJC recommendations the respective State Governors and the respective State Houses of Assembly, as the case may be.
