Senator Philip Aduda promises to partner Mark D Ball Basketball Championship

Senator Philip Aduda over the weekend promised to partner Mark D Ball Basketball Championship organisers to better the lots of players in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Aduda, who was one of the guests at the final of this year’s Mark D Ball Basketball Championship at the Indoor Hall of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, said the aim of partnering Mark D Ball Basketball is to sustain the competition and improve the lots of the players in the FCT and country generally.

“There’s the need to sustain this Mark D Ball Basketball Championship and develop the game in the FCT. Sustainability is key in the development of the game”, Senator Philip Aduda said.

The Highlight of Saturday’s closing ceremony of the women’s tournament, was the naming of the Top 5 players of team Mark D Ball 2022.

Regina Donanu (MFM), Chidinma Okeke (Sunshine Angels), Ifunaya Okoro (First Bank), Gift Uchenna (Kada Angels) and Nkem Akaraiwe (Nigeria Customs)
Nkem Akaraiwe also scooped the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award. Regina Iornumbe (First Bank) was named the Best Defensive player (MDP); while Chidinma Okeke of the Sunshine Angels (a team that finished 4th), received the award for the most assists in the tournament.

Kada Angels of Kaduna star, Gift Uchenna who was the only player to record 20+ rebounds in a single game was awarded for her prowess. She also had to get name, the record of making the Highest Rebounds, in the entire women’s tournament.
