An alleged robbery suspect is chatting with the Police in the Federal Capital Territory in connection with an operation in the Territory, reports page3news.com.ng
The suspect (names withheld) but his age put at 33 years old, was caught in the act after he had allegedly attacked his victim at about 6 am at Utako.
Josephine Adeh, a superintendent of police (SP), who is the FCT Police Command mouthpiece, in a statement with Ref No: AZ: 2550/FCT/PPRO/ VOL.10/103 dated 25th February, 2024 and made available to page3news.com.ng said
the Operatives of the FCT Police Command attached to Utako Divisional Headquarters on February 25, 2024, at about 06:05 AM, while on routine patrol, arrested the suspect in connection to a robbery attack on one Ogo Chukwuemeka ‘m’ 27 of Kuchigoro, Abuja.
“The suspect attacked the victim while he was trying to board a vehicle to Kuchigoro at Berger Mosque, Utako, stabbed him on his chest and shoulder with a knife and dispossessed him of his phones and other belongings.
“The police operatives on patrol, having received the information, in concert with the locals gave the suspect a hot chase and caught up with him. The exhibits were recovered from him and the victim was taken to the hospital to receive medical attention,” said SP Josephine Adeh.
According to her, while investigation is still ongoing, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh wishes to reiterate his unflinching commitment to ensure residents of FCT enjoy a safe and enjoyable environment. He equally urges residents to report suspicious activities.
