Barely five months after completing the documentation of Green Lock FC; the club have stormed the Nationwide League One, and chairman, Olubunmi Peters believes he would provide best ever administerial skill in the Nigeria football league, and the grassroots players recruited for the project would shock football enthusiasts, reports page3news.com.ng
He was cock sure at the unveiling of the club Friday in Abuja that the plan of the management to run the club would attract players and technocrats alike to be part of the team.
According to him, the Green Lock FC project was ordained and is programmed to benefit Nigerians immensely, and assured that “in the next few years, Green Lock FC would be the next big thing in Nigeria where any player willing to work hard can carve a niche for himself on the global stage.”
“It is a privilege to find myself in this environment, I least imagined I would ever be someone who will be in the football arena, but it seems like it was ordained and because we give the best in whatever we do. I think Nigerian environment is going to benefit immensely and exceptionally from the value they are going to bring on the table.
“What you’ll be watching out for is the tenacity for continuation, when you are able to continue doing what you have to do the best way possible, you’ll succeed. So, in a few years down the line, I’m expecting an amazing football club that will impact locally and internationally, a club that will not evolve to manage football club as it is done historically in this environment.
“We will develop strategies that will change the game, and with me, privileged to be leading, and providing leadership, I will give them the best guidance.”
Apparently corroborating Olubunmi Peters’ plans and arrangements, Olufunsho Peters, the Executive Vice Chairman of the club, and the brain behind the new project, in a Zoom conversation from his USA base during the media parley and unveiling of the club, said “Green Lock FC is poised to revolutionize the football game in Nigeria.”
He added that it is part of the plan to expose determined and talented players in the country to a better playing opportunity outside the Nigeria shores.
While clarifying the sudden catapulting of Green Lock FC to the Nationwide League One, the NLO Chief Operating Officer, Shola Ogunnowo said the club was fortunate to acquire the available slot without inheriting any liability. “It was a free acquisition.”
