A former national junior handballster, Masu Danjuma has urged the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to allow up and coming politicians to breathe in Rivers state, reports page3news.com.ng
Danjuma in a chat with our correspondent in Abuja was emphatic when he said that the country might not be at peace should the young politicians decide to react to Wike’s actions.
“Nyesom Wike should allow the young politicians to breathe in Rivers state. He cannot control Rivers state and the Federal Capital Territory at the same time.
The Constitution allowed him to govern Rivers state for eight years as the Executive Governor, and he should give way for the newly elected Executive Governor Siminalayi Fubara to govern the people. He cannot be in two places at the same time. His domineering posture that is causing one issue or the other could trigger national unrest where the miscreants could cash in on the current disturbance to take over Rivers state, and it might take the Federal might to bring the situation under control,” said Masu Danjuma, and added that “Governor Fubara could bar Wike from entering Rivers state for a period of time that could last four-five years and even more.
“Wike should allow the young politicians to breathe. He was mentored by experienced and elder statesmen in politics, and should not stampede the young politicians to abandon their political career.”
