Not less than five people were reportedly killed when a group of armed robbers stormed a Supermarket Tuesday night at Adehi Bus Stop, One Man Village, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State on the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory.
Eyewitnesses said that at about 8pm; armed men appeared at the supermarket identified as Wisdom’s Shop and started shooting sporadically and killed almost everyone on sight inside the shop.
The eyewitnesses reported that the fully armed men stormed the shop demanding valuables and cash from terrified shopkeepers and patrons.
Everyone was murdered in cold blood except the manager who smartly hid under the cashier’s table.
The perpetrators swiftly escaped the scene before law enforcement could respond to the distress call.
One of the bodies that was lying dead was identified as a worker with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
However, law enforcement agents in collaboration with neighbouring vigilantes have launched a manhunt in the bid to identify and apprehend the suspects as residents of the area were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
As the investigation unfolds, the community anxiously awaits updates on the progress made by law enforcement agents.
The incident serves as a stark reminder that even in the most seemingly peaceful places, vigilance remains crucial in the face of unexpected threats.
